Abstract

Advanced ammunition projectiles use a variety of advanced fuzing and guidance technologies. Since current implementations of these technologies are not tamper resistant, these technologies are export controlled to prevent reverse engineering and/or countermeasures development by adversaries. Due to proliferation of these technologies among multi-national allies and increased demands for international sales of products containing these technologies, there exists a need to produce tamper resistant fuzes. This Phase I project will apply a platform-based design methodology for the development of secure system-on-a-chip solutions to produce a design capable of meeting the demanding profile, size, weight, power, and cost requirements of high production volume ammunition projectiles.
