Abstract

The Army has identified a need for a Cross Platform Digital Rights Management (CP-DRM) system that provides a data owner the ability to control the flow of sensitive digital information even after it has been released. Architecture Technology Corporation (ATC) proposes Sandtrap that allows sensitive information to be packaged into a distributable self-contained package. Sensitive data is protected using Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). The self-contained package uses the recipient machine’s default application for the data type to display the information to the user. The default application is executed in a separated environment which restricts its ability to print, copy, or transfer sensitive information as specified by the Original Classifying Authorities (OCA).
