Abstract
This effort is producing MiDAS (Mission Displays for Autonomous Systems); an operator interface designed to exploit revolutionary automated mission planning capabilities for unmanned vehicles (UVs) in planning and executing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The MiDAS project features a Cognitive Work Analysis (CWA) approach to structure the MiDAS interface so that it is invariant across different types of unmanned vehicles. The product is a human-automation collaboration space, facilitating operator understanding and assessment of automatically generated mission plans.
