Abstract

"The focus of this proposal is to develop a system that is responsive to the needs of military leaders in developing and maintaining high performance, multinational teams. In Phase I we will define requirements for a scenario-based assessment and trainingsystem. The system will be derived from a training needs assessment specifically intended to identify competencies for multinational teams. Based on this knowledge of team competencies, a testing element will be aimed at the diagnostic assessment of teammember performance for operating within multinational teams. This diagnostic information will inform the training methods for enhancing team performance on three levels. First, to support team leaders in building high performance teams, team processmetrics will structure team training methods to increase, for example, team cohesion, adaptability, and information management. Second, individual diagnostic information will be generated for team members to provide feedback and support teamself-correction. Finally, diagnosis will structure scenario selection for focused, experience-based, team-in-the-loop training to enhance skills and knowledge for operating within multinational teams.
