Abstract

In Operations Other Than War (OOTW), there is a need for intelligence analysts and military planners to anticipate the actions and responses of complex networked organizations in nontraditional environments, particularly when confronting hostile networks. The Complex Organizational Reasoning System (CORES) encapsulates a multi-agent network simulation model that uses organizational dynamics to generate predictions of the likely actions and responses of networked organizations, with a focus on adversarialcontexts. Phase I focused on establishing the framework for CORES, with a focus on model design and validation. Phase II will be used to develop the CORES software and to validate the embedded models.
