Abstract

THIS IS A PROJECT TO ESTABLISH THE FEASIBILITY OF A TECHNIQUE FOR FORMING HOLOGRAMS FOR THREE DIMENSIONAL IMAGES OF COMPUTER-GENERATED OBJECTS IN REAL-TIME POINT BY POINT. THIS PROPRIETARY TECHNIQUE IS A METHOD FOR QUICKLY MOVING POINTS OF LIGHT THROUGH A THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT VOLUME. THIS NEW METHOD, ALONG WITH THE YOUNG TECHNOLOGY OF REAL-TIME THERMO-PLASTIC RECORDING MATERIALS, WILL OVERCOME THE TRADITIONAL PROBLEM OF LOW DYNAMIC RANGE ASSOCIATED WITH ATTEMPTS OF THIS SORT SINCE 1967. SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PHASE I WILL RESULT IN DEMONSTRATION HOLOGRAMS OF 3D SCENES WRITTEN IN REAL-TIME.
