Abstract

This proposal will identify a Technical Design and Implementation Project Plan for an HLA compliant tool suite that will automate the Exercise Scenario Generation process consistent with the High Level Architecture (HLA) specifications and process. The proposed design for the tool suite will provide automation support for the scenario generation process, the selection of Federation Object Models suitable for implementing the generated scenario, and scenario monitoring capabilities during execution of the scenario. Processes, functionality, and software designs for the proposed tool suite will be researched under the Phase I research effort. This research will include using the HLA specifications to ensure that the designed components will be HLA compliant, that the designed tools will be interoperable with existing HLA software tools, and that the designed tool suite will be effective in the automation of the HLA Federation Execution Development Process. At the compleltion of the Phase I research effort, a Technical Design will be delivered which will include a Detail Design Document of the software components, a Requirements Specification, an Exercise Scenario Generation Process, and an Architecture Design Specification to provide sufficient documentation of the Phase I effort. In addition to the Technical Design, A Phase II Implementation Program Plan will be delivered to identify activities for the Phase II research effort.
