Abstract

his project involves the commercialization of the breast phantom designed by NIST and University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The breast phantom consists of two independent phantoms, one focused on diffusion MRI measurements and the other focused on accurate measurements of fat and fibroglandular tissue properties. The proposed phantom is one of several recently developed to address the needs for reliable test tools for Quality Control in quantitative imaging work. The goal is take this carefully developed phantom and refine the design for manufacturing. Methods and processes to stabilize the reference solutions ensuring five years of measurement stability are required.
