AUTOMATED PERFUSION SYSTEM FOR CARDIAC SURGERY
Not Available An engine-generator set is proposed for the Burnt Mountain Seismic Observatory which was not considered in the original 1994 review of alternative power systems. It is a mechanical system which provides much higher efficiency than solid-state devices, and much higher reliability than other mechanical power systems. It has been designed for aircraft ground support of Air Expeditionary Forces, but it can also be adapted to low-power requirements such as the Burnt Mountain site with only minor changes, exhibiting excellent fuel economy and reliability. There is interest in developing a prototype for this engine concept at Armstrong Laboratory Logistics Research Division, the Army Communications Equipment Command, and the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center, as well as various commercial interests. There are a myriad of applications requireing an engine-generator set that is lightweight, low cost, low emissions, low thermal signature, silent and fuel efficient. Applications include aircraft ground support, portable power for military computers and electronics, and commercial uses. The engine can also be adapted for transportation.
