ArmaNet: Integrated Development Environment (ArmaNet IDE)
Agency / Branch:
DOD / USAF
The time and cost it takes to integrate new airborne weapons on platforms is still too great. The current F-15E Strike Eagle weapon integration timeline is 4 years, from requirements to fielding, and costs up to 20 million dollars. What is really needed for rapid aircraft-store integration is a development environment for a "plug-and-play" capability like that of today's PC-based multi-media components. 21st Century Systems, Incorporated is pleased to propose to address this situation with an evolutionary integrated development environment for weapon stores system development. 21CSI sees an opportunity to provide an integrated development environment using a model-based engineering toolset that enhances rapid aircraft-store integration while not requiring the platform contractor to divulge proprietary data. The system analysis tools will interface to aircraft models based on the Architecture Analysis & Design Language (AADL) framework. In addition to platform-store integration, the toolset has applicability to engineering studies of subsystems within the particular system of an aircraft platform or a store. This tool set will be responsive to the level of fidelity ranging from early-on identification of risks to pre-SIL integration of actual prototypical components. It is also envisioned that the toolset can be tailored to other systems with safety-critical software components.
