Abstract:
Tools for engineering of complex, embedded, high-performing real-time systems comprise a critical technology area. 21st Century Systems, Inc. proposes to design and eventually (in Phases II and III) develop and commercialize an environment tool-suite that will perform systems synthesis for such systems. The environment will include a system component manager, a system description language, and a powerful and intuitive, graphical front end. The environment will support and rely significantly on COTS tools, and will provide both interactive and automated assistance (including agents) to system engineers, during key stages of system lifecycle. Hierarchies, multi-views and a rich selection of functional and non-functional objectives (including those major significance to embedded systems, such as performance/power) will be supported, and key analysis, simulations and synthesis functions will be provided. To implement the proposal, 21st Century Systems, Inc. has assembled a very strong team, which also includes Aesthetic Solutions, Inc., the Real-Time Computing Lab at NJIT and Johns Hopkins University. The team is eminently qualified to implement the proposal, given its reconized expertise and solid track-record in system engineering tools for complex real-time systems, system component management, 3-D modeling and visualization, cost and objective functions, and system analysis and simulation.
