Abstract

This proposed study intends to develop a model and prototype of a flapping winged vehicle through the incorporation of elastic components. This will allow the manufacture of such vehicles with greatly enhanced flight duration and agility. Work will include the design, prototyping, and testing of micro air vehicle wing flapping mechanisms with tunable elastic components for increasing throughput power transmission efficiency.
