Abstract

ABSTRACT: This Phase 1 effort covers the design and testing of a Data Fusion Processor / Controller, which resides on-board a satellite and interfaces directly with the available sensor package. The goal of this Phase 1 is to prove the feasibility of the concept and evaluate algorithm performance in a realistic scenario. We will build a digital simulation of the concept to evaluate a broad performance space, select the most promising approach, and demonstrate that approach inside a Software Test System environment. BENEFIT: Upon successful completion of this SBIR the industry will have a novel and robust approach for deriving critical information from a diverse array of sensors in real time. This is applicable to a multitude of platforms, including space-based sensing and remote object identification.
