Model Integration through Data Aggregatin and Semantics (MIDAS)
Phone: (513) 436-4454
Weapon system effectiveness studies require the utilization of both low and high-level models and simulations. Often the data for these models are not compatible. A large part of the analysis process is spent extracting, assimilating, and transforming output data of one model into the compatible formats for input to other models. Previous approaches include manually modifying the source code to accommodate the appropriate formats or building model-specific post processors. These methods require a code change or translator for each model-to-model pair and are not cost effective. Furthermore, current methods don't accommodate version upgrades or new models, and lack the ability to efficiently aggregate model data. Spectra * Research proposes to develop the model Integration through Data Aggregation and Semantics (MIDAS) system. MIDAS will provide a methodology for automatically extracting, classifying, transforming, and sharing model data. S*R will extend the semantic code analyzer software being developed under current SBIR programs for the Army and NASA, to provide automated analysis and classification of data requirements for FORTRAN models. MIDAS will also provide features so that analysis data can be incorporated into office automation software. S*R will prototype key MIDAS components and processes during Phase I.
