Abstract

THIS PROPOSAL IS FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING A TECHNOLOGY THAT WILL PROVIDE FOR THE CONVERSION OF CFCS AND HALONS INTO ENVIRONMENTALLY BENIGN MATERIALS WHILE AT THE SAME TIME, PRODUCE NEW AND NOVEL MATERIALS WITH SIGNIFICANT MARKET VALUE, NAMELY, DIAMOND FILMS. THIS PROGRAM WILL EMPHASIZE THE CONVERSION OF CFCS AND HALONS INTO DIAMOND FILMS VIA A RECENTLY DEVELOPED TECHNIQUE EMPLOYING A HALOGEN-ASSISTED METHOD FOR CHEMICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION OF DIAMOND WHILE AT THE SAME TIME DISPOSING OF THESE MATERIALS AND ANY NOXIOUS BY-PRODUCTS
