Abstract
SA Photonics has demonstrated the ability to develop a low cost, small form factor, high performance Fiber Optic Gyro using advanced light source technology and high performance noise reduction. The key focus of the proposed Phase I is to extend the technology to enable very small and lightweight sensor head technology. During this Phase I, SA Photonics will analyze potential improvements to the gyro phase shifter and interconnects to reduce sensor head size and weight. We will select the best approach and build a breadboard unit for characterization.
