Abstract

We propose to design a prototype device based on coherent accumulation and interference of spectrally shaped waveforms to achieve wideband optical arbitrary waveform generation with time apertures of 50 us, complete control of phase and amplitude, bandwidths of 100 GHz up to 1 THz, and a spectral resolution of 50 kHz. This technology enables wideband agile waveform generation for communications, sensor, and surveillance applications.
