Abstract

SOF tactical users lack a miniature threat warning receiver that permits them to monitor RF energy and exploit hostile wireless communications while on extended deployments that necessitate very low power budgets. Having this capability will save lives and enhance the probability of successful completion of dangerous missions. The purpose of this Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase II effort is to develop a prototype of a mobile miniaturized, cost effective, software defined radio based on a successful proof-of-concept miniature quickscan receiver developed in an earlier phase of research.
