Abstract

The BMD Benchmark is a MATLAB-based simulation environment used by MDA for analysis of tracking and related algorithms as they apply to missile defense. The overall objective of this proposed program is to develop algorithms and models that will enhance the BMD Benchmark. One component is the data segmentation/ centroid processing (DSCP) algorithm used in narrowband and wideband radar models. The second component is the EO/IR system model. Development of new radar DSCP algorithms will enable advanced studies using high-fidelity radar models. Development of the EO/IR System model will enable a variety of different architecture and deployment strategies to be studied. With the new capabilities, MDA will have a significantly more powerful simulation environment in which to perform trade studies and test/verify major components of the BMDS.
