Abstract
nLight and Caltech intend to develop and commercially release high power diode lasers which use novel photonic crystal technology to pin the diode into a single mode with narrow spectral linewidth and narrow, stable single mode far field. They will be suitable for use as: (1) high-performance diode laser pumps for solid state lasers, (2) high-power pumps for fiber lasers and (3) single mode diode lasers suitable for direct-diode applications such as range finding, and 100-kW weapons.
