Abstract

XTAR Broadband-Satellite Air Force Research (XBAR’s ) main purpose is provide a two way broadband satellite communication architecture that can best utilize the newly made available XTAR satellite. The Phase II efforts will be focused on development of a fully functional prototype version of XBAN based on a single two-way satellite broadband technology. The hardware the deliverables will include a working prototype as well as designs and cost estimates for production units. The Phase 2 effort includes a complete technology rollout based on a commercially available 2-way VSAT standard. The rollout of XBAN will be complemented with extensive testing and analysis on network performance, terminal interoperability, and environmental and EMI performance of terminal equipments.
