Abstract:
Low Cost Course Correction Technology (LCCCT) can improve the accuracy and dispersion of gun launched projectiles, mortars and rockets. Based on microthrusters that provide altitude control and pointing, LCCCT can compensate for system errors by trajectory in-flight. Laserlith Corporation, in collaboration with Dr. Jan Puszynski and his research group, will demonstrate a microthruster based on metastable intermolecular composites (MIC). MIC materials will improve performance in terms of energy release and ignition. This work will also be accompanied by more fundamental research of burning characteristics of nanomaterials in various environments.
