Abstract

HYPRES proposes to develop a digital receiver system for the Link-16 communications band that can receive weak hopping-code signals in the presence of a large cosite jammer, for application to Navy electronic attack aircraft. This receiver is based on a superconducting bandpass analog-to-digital converter (ADC), with greater than 18 bits (110 dB) of dynamic range for a 3 MHz bandwidth signal located anywhere within the Link-16 band. This will be accomplished using a coarse ADC and a fine ADC combined together in a subranging achitecture, with advanced analog and digital filtering techniques.
