Abstract

Approaches to Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) as they stand today cannot support the Navy's need for shore-based or deployed mission rehearsal. An advanced intelligent interface to extend the DIS Semi-Automated Forces (SAF) model is proposed that will be capable of supporting networked, high fidelity multi-platform aviation simulation. Unlike SAF, this interface will focus on the unique mission-based needs of naval aviation aircrews. It will minimize risk by employing tried technologies and predeveloped software components
