Abstract

THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS PROJECT ARE: (1) TO DOCUMENT GERONTOLOGY EDUCATION APPROACHES BY WHICH TOPICS SUCH AS SELF-HELP DEVICES FOR THE ELDERLY ARE INTRODUCED INTO GRADUATE, MEDICAL, AND NURSING SCHOOLS; (2) TO DEVELOP A "BEST" APPROACH TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THESE PROFESSIONALS; (3) TO CONDUCT A MARKET SURVEY TO DETERMINE THE COMMERCIAL FEASIBILITY OF THE APPROACH; AND (4) TO DEVELOP TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPROACH (E.G., TELECONFERENCE, VIDEOTAPE, CURRICULUM MODULE) FOR PHASE II.
