Abstract

The focus of this proposed Innovative Antenna Tracking for mobile platforms concept is the operation of high gain antennas that require accurate pointing and control compatible with the dynamics of A/C motion. An objective of this effort is to showviability of developing a generic, standardized pointing and tracking scheme for operation of antennas on mobile platforms. The wide range of systems (different platforms, antenna size & type, etc.) makes this a challenging task as there are moreexceptions than rules. I.e. LO, thermal, installation, etc. The intent is to show that an architecture exists that can improve, simplify and standardize pointing and control of a wide range of high gain antennas.
