Abstract

Luna Innovations will develop a hybrid capture and burn system for the removal of soot from aircraft engine exhaust. Using proven technology, Luna will create a unique integrated system that is aerodynamically designed. The goal is to reduce soot emissions while limiting impact on engine performance. Due to the fast flows, the combination of capturing particulates in parallel with emissions burning will more effectively reduce the amount exhaust soot.
